This series of WSB-TV newsfilm clips from July 11, 1978, shows scenes from Southwest Community Hospital and Medical Center, Inc., and reporter Lynn Harasin interviewing state representative Henrietta Canty about the need for the hospital's expansion.In the first clip, men and women, all or mostly black, sit in a waiting room.The next clip shows an unidentified black woman, probably a patient, sitting across from the desk from an unidentified black female hospital employee, who is using the telephone.In the next clip, the hospital employee is seen in closer view, concluding her business on the telephone.The next clip shows the same waiting area once again, with men and women, most or all of whom are black, seated.In the next clip, a black female nurse and a white or Hispanic man who is probably a nurse or doctor fill out paperwork in a small office.The next clips briefly show different areas of the hospital.
