Description

This folder contains correspondence to and from the COFO office in Meridian, Mississippi. Topics covered vary widely and include such things as asking the national office of CORE to pay the hospital bills of a local volunteer, the start-up of a community center in Meridian, requests for action on discrimination in local restaurants, attempts to get lists of African Americans registered to vote in Lauderdale County, the Mississippi Student Union, a list of the equipment and furniture in the local COFO office and its value, donations of books and money, and requests that the "colored" and "white" signs be removed from restrooms and drinking fountains in the county courthouse.
