Letter (1 February 1779) from William Ancrum (1722-1808) to Marlow Pryor, overseer, continues at top of page. Letter (6 February 1779) from Ancrum to Joshua Ferral, overseer, regarding the purchas of shoes for slaves, the trasfer of indigo, the planting of crops to provide for more provisions, concerns over the increasing amounts of slaves and soldiers who need provisions, the killing of hogs for slaves to eat, the need to increase the stock to ensure provisions for slaves in the future, and the difficulties finding materials for slave clothing.
