Description

Various scenes of African-American pilots from the 99th Fighter Squadron, the Tuskegee Airmen, and armed service men from the British Eighth Army, including allied bombing campaign, airplanes and soldiers. Detail of pilot waving from plane, named "Elisa Mae," and taxiing on field. Additional scenes of Tuskegee Airmen include: pilots standing together talking; preparing to fly; gathering around map for additional discussion; being greeting by African Methodist Episcopal (AME) Bishop John Andrew Gregg before mission; loading planes with belts of ammunition; and working on plane engine. Scenes of the British Eighth Army include: battling for enemy occupied territory; officers studying maps or plans; and details of artillery ground forces loading and firing howitzers. Various scenes of targets being bombed, with smoke from rising from city in distance. Edited story, title unknown, used in Fox Movietone News Vol. 26, No. 43.
