Records collected by the director of the Mississippi Sovereignty Commission between January and June of 1964. The file contains memorandums on individuals and organizations the commission investigated, information about the 1964 Civil Rights Act, letters and memos about the television show Bonanza, and information about transitions in the state and in the commission following the election of Paul B. Johnson as governor of Mississippi.The Civil Rights Digital Library received support from a National Leadership Grant for Libraries awarded to the University of Georgia by the Institute of Museum and Library Services for the aggregation and enhancement of partner metadata.
