In this interview, Memphian Johnnie Mae Peters describes her long term cooperation and work with H.T. Lockard, the NAACP, the SCDC, and Sheriff William Norris. She recounts life in Memphis before desegregation and her work organizing sit-ins, protests, and the registration of voters.
