Walter Francis White was a writer, civil rights activist and prominent member of the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People (NAACP). As a member of the NAACP he served as executive secretary leading the organization during its spearheading of such monumental cases as the Scottsboro Boys and the Brown v. Board of Education ruling.
