Holograph, signed.William Lloyd Garrison is gratified that the book he sent Francis Jackson was acceptable. He hopes to be "side by side" with him in the spirit-life hereafter. Garrison refers to verses quoted by Francis Jackson from an "old Methodist hymn," and cites a verse from a hymn by Isaac Watts. He also quotes St. Paul (I. Corinthians 15). He thanks Francis Jackson for financing the alteration of his furnace. He sends cheese from the dairy of Philip Scarborough.Merrill, Walter M. Letters of William Lloyd Garrison, v.4, no.258.
