J.C. Price School

Description

This scrapbook documents the history of the J.C. Price Elementary School in the Warnersville community of Greensboro, North Carolina. The school opened in 1922 as am educational facility for African American children during segregation. Abraham Peeler was principal of the school from 1931 to 1969. Price closed in 1983, but stood for three more decandes as the only remaining physical evidence of Warnersville, which had been "redeveloped" duting the 1960s. The school building was demolished in 2014.
