This is the book cover of "Come Out Fighting: The Epic Tale of the 761st Tank Battalion 1942-1945". First published in 1945, it gives an account of experiences of the 761st Tank Battalion in World War II. The 761st was the first African American tank battalion of the U.S. Armed Services. Worthington native, George C. Blake was a member of the 761st and was one of eleven men in the unit to be awarded the Silver Star Medal for gallantry in action against enemy forces. The author of the book, Trezzvant W. Anderson was a war correspondent and also member of the 761st Tank Battalion.
