Holograph, signed with initials.William Lloyd Garrison values the good opinion of William Goodell. Charles T. C. Follen is always a delightful speaker. The Massachusetts Anti-Slavery Society should be represented at the Rhode Island convention. Garrison regrets that E. M. P. Wells was re-elected. Garrison sends his congratulations to Samuel Joseph May on the birth of his child. He wishes that Isaac Knapp would cease printing poetry complimentary to William L. Garrison in the Liberator. Garrison gives instructions for the publication of articles in the Liberator. Garrison urges Henry Egbert Benson to attend the convention in Providence.Also with the same Call No. Ms.A.1.1 v.2, p.6, is an unrelated newspaper clipping consisting of a favorable book review / announcement from the Boston Beacon of the publication of two volumes entitled, William Lloyd Garrison: the Story of his Life Told by his Children, [by Wendell Phillips Garrison and Francis Jackson Garrison], published by the Century Company, New York, [1885?].Merrill, Walter M.
