Description

Ruth Olive Holley (1916-1986). In 1973, Ruth Holley was named the first East Library Branch Supervisor (Constitution Avenue and Academy Boulevard). Ruth became the first African-American to head a local branch library. She remained as supervisor through two successive moves to larger quarters in the North Rustic Hills area as library patronage grew. She retired in 1983.
