Dunbar News

Description

Signed Roscoe Conkling Bruce; calling his attention to the matter of capitalizing the word "Negro"; naming other publications who are capitalizing the word; and appealing to the Government to do the same, citing, as grounds, that "'there must never be anything narrow, selfish, illiberal or exclusive in the views of the United States or its government on any subject whatsoever.'" Possibly enclosed in correspondence with W. E. B. Du Bois concerning this issue of capitalization.
