Description

Chatham County, early 1900s. Houses on Hermitage Plantation owned by Henry McAlpin. They may have been used by workers on the plantation, which was located about three miles north of Savannah. McAlpin operated a brick kiln and produced bricks known as "Savannah Greys." The Hermitage has been demolished and today Union Camp Paper Corp. occupies the site.
