Description

Series of WSB-TV newsfilm clips of members of the Student Nonviolent Coordinating Committee (SNCC) discussing the "Black Power" philosophy. Seated left to right at the table are James Forman, Cleveland Sellers, Ruby Doris Smith Robinson and Stokely Carmichael. John Lewis appears later seated to the right of Mr. Carmichael. Thurgood Marshall appears addressing the group, followed by shots of Mr. Carmichael then Ms. Robinson speaking. There is a shot of a group of men taking notes, which includes a cameraman filming the session. There is a long clip of Ms. Robinson speaking; she seems to be responding to questions. The next clips are of Ms. Robinson, Mr. Carmichael, Mr. Lewis, and Mr. Sellers at the conference table, and Mr. Marshall and his group in chairs facing them. The next clip includes Julian Bond standing at the side of the conference table addressing the group. There is a very shot clip of Mr. Forman followed by Mr. Carmichael speaking.
