This folder consists of pamphlets, newspaper clippings, conference proceedings, and press releases. A 1963 SNCC pamphlet tells the history and goals of the organization while appealing for funds. A COFO pamphlet on Freedom Summer describes freedom schools, community centers, and voter registration efforts. A late 1964 SNCC pamphlet called "The Mississippi Freedom Project" describes Freedom Summer projects and goals and asks for support. There's a COFO "Freedom Registration" pamphlet, which describes the upcoming November 1964 Freedom Vote and includes a blank Freedom Registration form. There's an MFDP pamphlet which attempts to raise funds to send Mississippi delegates to observe the Congressional Challenge in Washington, D. C. "Mississippi: Subversion of the Right to Vote," a familiar SNCC pamphlet, describes in detail the intentional and systematic disenfranchisement of Mississippi African Americans from Reconstruction through the early 1960s.
