Description

This WSB-TV newsfilm clip opens with silent section showing an unidentified reporter with his back to the camera and unidentified African American man. The shot moves to a close-up of the man being interviewed who discusses the rights that now require the Housing Authority to maintain the property and protects the tenants from harassment. He notes that it has taken since 1937 to achieve these rights. The Techwood Homes project opened in Atlanta in 1936, so the interview may refer to this part of the Housing Authority. In March of 1969, the Atlanta Housing Authority agreed to a set of tenant rights. This action is the basis for dating this clip.Title supplied by cataloger.Supporting information was taken from the following source: Coffin, Alex. "More Tenant Rights Vowed in AHA Shift."
