Description

Photograph taken looking west from Cove Alley at Born Court in Baltimore, Maryland. These two-and-one-half-story row houses were scheduled to be razed in 1939 as part of the Baltimore Housing Authority's slum clearance program. On the left in the window of the first house is an African American woman, and on the steps of the second house is an African American woman with her dog. On the right a few houses from the far end is an African American man kneeling on the steps. A small wagon that may have been used for transporting household items sits in front of the nearest house on the right.
