He is probably singing. Martin Luther King, Sr., also spoke during the program, which was held during the eleventh anniversary celebration of the Montgomery Improvement Association. This image was taken for (but not used in) the article "King Family's in Town" by Arlam Carr, Jr., which appeared on page 1 of The Southern Courier for December 10-11, 1966.
