Forty-eight African students participated in an African-American summer work program in NYC. They went to seminars involved with their work involved with city administration. It is unclear who is the emcee of this event. This ceremony honors the people who helped make this program possible. They are Ambassador F.M. Mulakita Zambian representative to the U.N.Valdmir. Nielsen, President of Afro-American Instituteand Lawrence Burr, program officer of the African-American Institute. The Agency for International Development also receives a plaque.
