Description

This historic marker is located on Main Street, where the Nyack Brook runs above ground for a few hundred feet. The brook was a landmark along the Underground Railroad. Travelers were led down the brook at night and when they reached the Hudson River, were put on boats to go upriver to Newburgh, the next stop.
