Description
Photograph of the east side of the 300 block North Bond Street between Mullikin (right) and Orleans (left) Streets in Baltimore, Maryland. These two- and three-story brick row houses were scheduled to be demolished as part of the Baltimore Housing Authority's slum clearance program. The building on the far right appears to have been a corner store or restaurant that sold seafood, as indicated by the word "Oysters" on the side of the building. The building on the far left corner once housed the Sklar Hardware Co. located at number 1601 Orleans Street. Signs featuring the building materials sold there, including a sign advertising Lone Star Cement on the wooden garage behind the store, are still visible, as is its phone number, Wolfe 0630. Between the garage and the building on the right is an alleyway known as Mullikin Court. On the far left, parked by the curb, is a lone automobile. (Waldeck photograph 50.)
