Description

Holograph, signedEdmund Quincy will remain at the Liberator editorial post as long as William Lloyd Garrison's health requires it. Dr. Ruggles has invited Garrison to take the water cure at his establishment. Dr. Geist, a homeopath, is treating his illness. Garrison describes his financial plight. The reduction of the price of the Liberator has caused a loss of $800, and the list of subscribers has not increased scarcely at all, perhaps not more than an increase of one hundred subscribers. The Liberator is in debt to the printer, etc. Garrison requests a loan of $300 to save his credit. The late Mrs. Sarah Greene Chapman (the mother-in-law of Maria Weston Chapman) bequeathed to William Lloyd Garrison $100Merrill, Walter M. Letters of William Lloyd Garrison
