Description

View of Camp Meigs Memorial Park depciting two cannons on a grassy area on either side of a flagpole with two birch trees. Additional trees and buildings can be seen in the background and a dirt path surrounds the grass area. The camp was used as a training field during the Civil War for many Massachusetts regiments including the 54th, 55th and the 5th Calvary, the first African-American troops to serve in the United States Army.
