Description

Obituary of Judy Jackson, often called Aunt Judy. The obituary briefly describes her life as a slave. She was two years old when Jeremiah Merrit bought her and her mother. Judy was later purchased by Philip LeFevre as a wedding gift for his son, Andries. She remained a slave of Andries until 1827 when slaves in New York were set free. She died at age 98.
