Whereabouts of original manuscript unknownThis letter was prompted by the detailed account of Prof. John Pringle Nichol's illness and death that was sent by Elizabeth Pease Nichol to Wendell Phillips. William Lloyd Garrison pays tribute to John Pringle Nichol's noble qualities. Garrison discourses on six considerations "which should serve to break the force of such a separation [of death], while allowing the heart full scope of its sorrow." Garrison would like to visit Great Britain but his plans are not definite. If he should come, Samuel May, Jr., might accompany himMerrill, Walter M. Letters of William Lloyd Garrison
