Photograph of the historic First African Baptist Church in Savannah, Georgia. This church, which was established during the 1770s and later played an important part in the Savannah civil rights movement, is one of the oldest continuously existing black congregations in the United States. The brick structure features a bell tower rising above the entrance. The stained-glass windows in the current church building, located at 23 Montgomery Street in Savannah, feature prominent black leaders.
