Student Nonviolent Coordinating Committee

Description

This folder is largely composed of Wide Area Telephone reports compiled by SNCC in the early parts of 1965 and 1966. Aside from documenting the actions taken by and against civil rights workers, the reports also address: the 1964 Agricultural Stabilization Committee elections; the ways in which the 1964 Civil Rights Act affected desegregation efforts; political infighting within the Mississippi Freedom Democratic Party; and the growth of the Mississippi Freedom Labor Union.
