Holograph, signed.Title devised by cataloger.Nathan Winslow writes to William Lloyd Garrison welcoming him back to "thy native land" and congratulating him "on the success of thy course." He then criticizes "our citizen J[ohn] Neal[e]", claiming "we thought his opposition to our cause rather aided us". Winslow calls it "singular that he should arraign thee as a slanderer of thy country when he was, on his return from Europe, near being mobbed on the same account." He then shares his family's happiness that Garrison "escape[d] from the New York ruffians" after landing in the city and his plans to try to attend the national antislavery convention in Philadelphia. He also asks Garrison to send the Liberator to "James Appleton of this place, he is an officer in our society."
