Bill of sale from Collier & Carter to John P. Darden for 4 slaves: Willis (age 18), Hariet (age 18), Mary (age 14), and Agnes (age 13).Jany 30th 1849 Know all men, that in consideration of the sum of Twenty Four Hundred & Fifty dollars to us in hand paid, the receipt of which is hereby acknowledged, we have bargained sold & delivered to Jno. P. Darden Four negroes valued & described as follows viz-Willis aged 18 years 725$ Hariet aged 18 years 625$ Mary 14 years 600$ & Agnes 13 years of age 500$- Said negroes we warrant sound in body & mind and slaves for life, & we hereby warrant and defend the title to them to the said Jno. P. Darden his heirs or assigns against all claims whatsoever- Given under our hands & Seals this day & date above Collier & Carter {seal}
