Holograph, signedTitle devised by catalogerManuscript annotated on recto, with "45" appearing in pencil above Needles's salutation to GarrisonManuscript dated "8 mo 2d. 1838"Manuscript addressed on verso to "William Loyd Garrison Brooklyn Conneticut", with postage stamp reading "Philadelphia Aug 7"Edward Needles, writing on the behalf of a "worthy female friend", encloses a note for the sum of $50 with the desire that Garrison should accept this as a gift to be used for his "own private purposes". Needles writes his wishes of improved health and domestic bliss to Garrison
