Description

Edgar Cowan was an American lawyer and Republican politician from Greensburg, Pennsylvania. He represented Pennsylvania in the United States Senate during the American Civil War. Cowan became a supporter of Andrew Johnson's plan for post-Civil War Reconstruction.
