In this interview, Nan Pendergrast describes her involvement with the organization, Georgia Council on Human Relations, and their efforts to integrate public facilities in Atlanta, Georgia. She was also one of the founding members of Help Our Public Education (HOPE), and she became involved with the NAACP and the League of Women Voters. Pendergrast ends the interview by discussing her connection with the Vassar College Alumni Council.Nan Pendergrast was born and raised in Atlanta, Georgia. She attended Vassar College in New York, returned to Atlanta after graduation, and became involved in several civic organizations.
