Photograph caption dated May 9, 1988 reads, "Magic Johnson shoots skyhook over the outstretched arm of Utah center Mark Eaton during first quarter action at the Forum." This was the first of seven Western Conference Semifinals games between the Lakers and the Jazz. The Lakers went to the Western Conference and NBA Finals and won the championship title for the 1987-88 season.
