1964 Topps round, metal, gold colored bottlecap #99 with a color photograph of Jim Grant, pitcher for the Cleveland Indians on the front and statistics on reverse. Jim “Mudcat” Grant was one of many All-Stars featured on milk bottle caps to encourage fans to acquire each cap in the collection.Jim “Mudcat” Grant was a pitcher who played for numerous teams including the Indians (1958-64), Twins (1964-67), Dodgers (1968), Expos (1969), Cardinals (1969), Athletics (1970, 1971), and Pirates (1970-71). He was also on the All-Star teams in 1963 and 1965. Grant became the first African American pitcher in the American League to win twenty games in one season. Soon after his retirement, Grant held various broadcasting jobs with the Indians and Athletics.Currently not on view
