Mass" and a red seal is present along the spine edge.James Frederick Otis writes to William Lloyd Garrison about the circular he received, "which has filled me with anxiety, and I must confess it, alarm." He declares that "A thousand blows have been struck, but the coup de grace has not yet been given. The Liberator must survive even that event!" Otis sends Garrison two dollars for a year subscription to the Liberator and asks him for his bill, saying, "I do not know where it stands. I must have it settled." He also asks about a proposal to offer shares of stock in the Liberator to notable abolitionists, telling him, "Garrison, my friend, if that is all you need to support the Liberator, it need not, it cannot fail!" Otis also provides him with names to add "to the call for the New England Convention".
