Description

Mayor's Homeless Advisory Commission meeting / 2114 Oakwood Avenue / This meeting is predicted to be chock full of disagreement. One of the participating groups in the commission has said another deserves to lose about a quarter-million dollars in grant money. The accusers are in the Homeless Action Committee - look for a shot of member Melissa Hiley (very thin, wiry, outspoken blonde). The main person accused is Marilyn Mabry (chairwoman of commission, director of New Futures, black, speaks in kind of a high, light voice). Another shot to look for would be of Gary Porier (white guy, I've never met in person) or Kelsia Smith (kind of young, black woman, can't remember enough to describe further - because they're with Project Restore, the agency that might have won the money if New Futures hadn't. No need to go too much into the particulars, but do look for emotional faces or at least mugs of the main players. Reporter will be there. / Salvation Army offices are next to Salvation Army thrift store building on Oakwood Avenue, just west of Memorial Parkway / [Notes included]
