Description
Advertisement for the sale of Milton A. Browder's estate at a "public outcry" auction on February 16, 1860. For sale are about 2,400 acres of land; 50 slaves ("of superior quality, embracing Boys and Girls, single men and women, and families, all acclimated and well trained to farm work"); livestock and feed; tools, equipment, and furniture; and about $28,000 in bank and railroad stocks. The auction will also feature 40 slaves to be hired out for the next year. The executors of the estate are John Gill Shorter and Alpheus Baker.
