Description
A photograph of Salem African Methodist Episcopal Church formerly located at 1800 Fourth Avenue North in Nashville, Tennessee. The congregation organized in 1867 according to the cornerstone. The exterior walls were red brick. The roof was made of shingles. The stone portion of the building was the original chapel structure built in the late 1870s. The new brick front was added in 1977. As of 2007, this address no longer appears in the city directory. Forms part of the Historic Nashville, Inc. Sacred Sites Survey Project. 1 photograph : col. ; 4 x 6 in.
