Description

Brochure titled: Black artists exhibit, Nov. 3-30, 1968. The exhibit was held at Inglewood Public Library in Inglewood, California and features a wood sculpture titled "The sermon" by John Outterbridge on the cover. A list of artists whose work is featured in the exhibit is included on pages 2-3 with a short biography of Outterbridge. A handwritten note on page 4 states: "I [Outterbridge] spoke to a large group of very important people at this show." Outterbridge is a Los Angeles-based painter, sculptor, and installation artist who was born in Greenville, North Carolina.
