Description

In this series of WSB newsfilm clips from 1972, clips of children ridding school buses and brief interviews about busing in the Atlanta public school system is shown.The footage begins with clips of families taking their children into a school building. Next, an unidentified man is interviewed by an unidentified reporter about his children being being bused to another school. The man does not like the idea of his children being bused across town and worries about not being able to reach his children in time if there is an emergency. He also states that his objection to busing is not a racial issue. His issue is with children being inconvenienced. This is followed by clips of children leaving a school and entering a school bus. Next is an interview with an unidentified priest. He speaks about Atlanta needing a proper plan to address segregated schools. This followed by another clip of children leaving a school. The final clips are of another unidentified man being interviewed. He believes that busing will lead to all black schools.Title supplied by cataloger.
