Description
A biographical film about dancer, choreographer, anthropologist, and activist Katherine Dunham. The film chronicles significant events throughout Dunham’s career. It features footage from Star Spangled Rhythm (1943) staring Dunham and Eddie “Rochester” Anderson, the 1983 Kennedy Center Honors reception, interviews, Dunham Technique classes, Haitian politics, and Dunham’s 1992 hunger strike concerning Haitian refugees.
