Holograph, signed.Title devised by cataloger.Boston Public Library (Rare Books Department) manuscript postmarked in purple ink "Phelps MSS."Elizur Wright Jr. writes to Amos A. Phelps regarding the last Committee meeting in which "the subject of the reappointment of the agents being first on the dock...we did not get on to the subject of our Extra for Congress till half past ten, and it was left to the publication committee." He discusses the change in address of a Mr. Brunswick but "could find nothing of the man." The commitee voted on the reappointment of men in the agency. He includes a list of some of these men. He also writes about the quarterly magazine and his attempt to enlarge the size of the North American Review, to "get contributions" and to "write distinguished advocated of slavery to enter into discussion in it, giving them a fair chance to make it proslavery if their arguments can beat ours."
