Description
A photograph of Pleasant Green Baptist Church, also referred to as Pleasant Green Missionary Baptist. This historically African American church is located at 1410 Jefferson Street in Nashville, Tennessee. The architect for the project was L. Quincy Jackson and Associates. The plans were designed by McKissack and McKissack and the original brick building was completed in 1926. An educational wing was added in the early 1990s. The foundation is made of concrete that has been painted green. The exterior walls are red brick. The roof is flat. The windows are a combination of clear glass and stained glass. The doors are metal with glass panes. Special features include four brick columns and a gabled portico over the entrance. Forms part of the Historic Nashville, Inc.
