Description

In the statement Wallace discusses a group of white citizens who have been trying to negotiate an end to the civil rights demonstration: "Since the President's action has been based upon the actions of these secret negotiators, we must have a full disclosure of their activities. On behalf of the people of Alabama, I demand that they make public the names of those participating in these bi-racial discussions, upon whose authority they were acting in general that they fully apprise the people and the responsible elected officialdom of this state of their actions over the past few weeks."
