Description

A photograph of a single African American standing in a long line of voters at Clinton, Tennessee's fire hall precinct. Segregationist candidates were defeated in this election. Earlier that year, on August 27, twelve African American students entered Clinton High School, making it the first school in the South to desegregate under court order.
