Austin Clarke reads from his award-winning book The Polished Hoe. The novel won Canada's prestigious Giller Prize. It is set in Clarke's native country in the West Indies and takes place the 1950s. An elaborately structured story of a murderess confessing to a crime whose life and family were part of the society built on slavery. Clarke's reading is mesmerizing!
