Holograph, signedTitle devised by catalogerManuscript composed upon stationary bearing the typeset letterhead of the "Office of the Commissioners of the Freedman's Savings and Trust Company."Manuscript annotated on recto, with "101" in pencil above Purvis' salutation to GarrisonManuscript addressed from "1118 13th St."Robert Purvis writes William Lloyd Garrison expressing his thanks for Garrison's gift of a photograph of George Thompson, and relates that gazing upon it kindles his memory to the "early days of our Anti-Slavery warfare". Purvis relates to Garrison his evening spent with Lucretia Mott in which they read aloud letters from Thompson and Garrison. Purvis states with sadness how their circle "narrows", and states that soon, none of the "Old Guard" of their cause will remain
