Description
This folder contains a wealth of documents on civil rights activities in Mississippi in the 1963-1965 period, focusing especially on the Freedom Summer. Materials by and about COFO, CORE, and SNCC include reports, correspondence, newsletters, minutes, staff lists, memoranda, and news releases. Incident reports outline the typical litany of assaults, shootings, arrests, intimidation, harassment, and murder. The activities of the Medical Committee for Human Rights are discussed as are plans for action at the Democratic National Convention in Atlantic City in 1964.
