He owned the Abigail, Bessie Smith (with partner Captain Harry Donnally, 1901), General Wood (part owner, circa 1923), Lorena (1916), Lucille Nowland--renamed Abigail (circa 1913), Telephone (1900), Verne Swain (1918), Virginia (1915). He worked on the following boats: Abigail (captain), Ouachita (master, 1934 and 1935), Senator Cordill (captain, 1933), Bessie Smith (clerk, circa 1902), Favorite (clerk, 1895), Saint Paul (pilot, 1937). In the spring of 1916 he bought the Lorena and repaired her but she burned. In 1913 he bought the Lucille Nowland, rebuilt her and renamed her Abigail. He and Harry C.
